Mo Details

Big Mo is a Spartanburg county-wide program created and led by Spartanburg Academic Movement (SAM). We exist to make sure every student in Spartanburg County has the support and resources they need to take their next step after high school.

Who?

At its core, Big Mo is simple: every high school student in Spartanburg County can sign up, at no cost, and receive help navigating their post-secondary options. From financial aid to career exploration, from applications to personal guidance, Big Mo is built to move students forward after high school.

What?

Big Mo is part of a growing national movement of “Promise Programs” that guarantee students support to pursue education beyond high school. In Spartanburg, this work has been led by SAM and is supported entirely by private dollars through Movement 2030.

Where?

Education is the key to economic mobility. Big Mo is our community’s promise to the next generation — that cost or circumstance won’t stand in the way of opportunity. By ensuring every student can access postsecondary options, we’re investing in a stronger, more prosperous Spartanburg for everyone.

Why?

Big Mo is funded by private donations and powered by SAM as part of Movement 2030, a bold community-wide effort to improve economic mobility in Spartanburg County by the end of the decade. Together with schools, families, businesses and local partners, we’re building momentum for students and for Spartanburg’s future.
